One of my favorite things to do is to visit museums and see new exhibitions! Whether it’s related to art, fashion or science I can never have enough! Who doesn’t feel enriched after leaving a museum? I know I do! Well, before leaving for NYC, I had the chance to visit the exhibition Warhol Mania that is being presented at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Even though Warhol is the epitome of artistic expression and use of flashy colors, that day I felt like going all grey! It is a shade of choice this fall/winter season and it has taken first place as a neutral. You can pair it with any pop of color to add a twist or simply wear it with black or white for a monochromatic look. I opted for a touch of burgundy, one of my favorite hues this season. But also, because it was a reason for me to put on my new Lise Watier Gourmand Velours lipstick, that I had bought the day before :)
Now let’s talk shorts! Am I insane to wear them after the first snow has hit the ground? Maybe a little… But I truly believe shorts can be worn at any season! You just have to find the right way to do so. Here I sported them with black tights that give the impression of wearing over the knee socks. They are from the British brand Pretty Polly that I discovered last year and that you can find online. I actually went a bit crazy and got so many different styles! Let’s call it leg art expression ;)
Since I was going short on the legs, I went long and comfy on top, wearing a black turtleneck (which is a must in my wardrobe) and a knit cardigan. Then, I felt like the outfit needed a kick so I wore my platform super high heeled black leather booties and gave it a rocker feeling (can’t you hear the electric guitar playing in the back? ;) I also have a thing for mixing street wear with designer brands, that's why I chose my D&G bag to complete the look, simply because it’s practical and chic at the same time.
Now let’s go back to the exhibition! Warhol is mainly known for his Pop Art movement and his many representations of celebrity culture (we have all seen the famous Marilyn Monroe colorful illustrations), but I was happy to discover that he also had wonderful magazines advertising skills. Check out the pictures below!
By the way, this week I had my first class at Parsons School of Fashion and I met some great girls, with whom I will be exploring New York City. And of course, I will take you on that ride with me! Every weekend I will try to post an article about a new experience I’m living in the city I'm in (whether it’s related to a fashion, culture, fitness, cuisine or more). Would you like that ?
I hope you enjoyed visiting Andy’s exhibition with me today as much as I did writing about it!
Have a great weekend everyone!
