There is something about fall that makes it very special! We go back to a regular schedule, look forward to pumpkin chai lattes and to snuggling under a blanket on movie nights, to apple picking and cooking hearty soups. I personally love fall for all these reasons! But my inner social girl likes it also because it's Opera, Ballet and Ball season, Halloween and Fashion weeks ;) Fundraising balls are great events to dress up, mingle with young professionals, have delicious food, a few drinks and dance the night away while raising money for a good cause! My type of party :) Halloween is one of my favourite holidays because it’s simply so much fun! You get to be whomever you want for a night and no one has a say! You can go all out with your costume and makeup and feel like a kid! I am still wondering what I’ll be doing this year and what to dress as! Do you have any ideas for me? And last but not least: Fashion Weeks! From New York, to London, to Milan and Paris, I get excited just thinking about it! I love to see the designers' inspirations, the stories they are portraying in their clothes and the overall Spring-Summer vibe. This year, I have fallen hard for the sharp Mugler, edgy Versace, seductive Balmain and artsy McQueen SS16 collections! You have to take a look! Pure art!
Autumn being a period of changes, I decided to chop chop my hair! I took me time to process the idea and act on it. I haven’t had my hair this short since I was sixteen! But I am enjoying the change and discovering how to play with it and create different looks :) It’s also time to switch up my wardrobe and transition into the new season. So it’s all about mixing summer pieces with fall ones. In today’s look, I opted for a light color maxi dress before it’s too late to wear! I like the simplicity and flow of it but also how it’s fitted at the top, creating a more defined silhouette. The suede vest I believe to be a great piece to sport on the crisp evenings we are having. I have to admit that the mustard color can be hard to wear. It is a trendy hue this season and I find that matching it with earthy tones is the best way to go. While the dress is light and quite neutral, the wooden and brown shoes and bag were a good combination and link to the jacket. And being a fan of sunglasses (I won’t admit how many I own…) I chose to wear my latest find from Montreal accessories designer Jane & Rye! Aren't they the coolest?
Have a great week everyone!
