Just got back from a morning hike on Mount Saint-Hilaire and I couldn’t feel more Zen! I’ve always enjoyed hiking but never really took the time to do in the past. This summer, I told myself I was going to go more often and so I did! I’ve been going almost every week, to trails close to Montreal with my dear friend Isa, who also loves being active and fit! I also went trekking for a full day on Mount Liberty in New Hampshire with my bestie which made me fall even more in love with this sport! I’ve discovered this activity to be one of the best natural therapies out there! Being outside, breathing fresh air, walking through an enchanting backdrop, feeling your heart pumping and adrenaline rushing through your veins, feeling a sense of accomplishment when you reach the top of the mountain and witnessing the peaceful scenery are what it takes to clear your mind! And let's not forget the woods’ special powers to let you share your deepest thoughts and feelings with your cherished hiking friends… Whatever is said on the mountain stays on the mountains, that's for sure ;) Aside from being a great challenge and workout (especially for the booty!), hiking to me is a form of restorative treatment. I just feel so serene after… I will take advantage of the last autumn days as much as I can to go on other trails and I am already looking forward to the spring to go on new trekking adventures! You are welcome to join :)
When I am back to Montreal, I take the sport wear off and swap into my city outfits! And nothing describes urban more than denim! The dungarees ones I have are perfect to wear on a day spent around town. From shopping, to a coffee with friends, to a relaxed date, they are adaptable to multiple settings. Overalls have been omnipresent in this year's fashion and can be sported in so many ways. We usually see them worn in an easy-going manner, with a simple white tee or crop top and sneakers or flat booties. I felt like switching it up and wearing them in a classier and sharper way! I think the flared seventies’ inspired bottom is ideal to wear with high-heeled shoes or boots because it gives you model-like legs, which we all want :) Keeping it simple and clean, I opted for a cream lace top and vest to go with it. What I like about this jacket in particular are the elbow patches and brown and gold details. I find they bring a casual appeal and tie in with the overalls. Staying in the same neutral tones, the oversized beige clutch is my final touch. The studs are just enough for that extra glam! Now I want to know how you wear your overalls!
