This week marked the first snowfall of the season! Were you ready? I know I was :) Am I crazy to say that? Just by thinking about the meters of snow waiting to fall and the icy slippery roads I will soon be dealing with I should be crying… Well I am not! Why? Because I am so over the last two months! Every year, I find that the months of October and November are the hardest! My energy is low… All I want to do is snuggle under a blanket and binge on Netflix (which I should do)… My mood is just blah… I am more impatient… I question everything about my life… And when I look around, I find that I am not the only one going through this phase! Does it happen to you too? Maybe it’s du to the days shortening? Maybe I need luminotherapy? I should get some vitamin D supplements and gaze at a light fixture for hours ;) Nah! I will not let this period turn me into a downer! Life is too short and too precious to waist it on negative energy! With Christmas coming up very soon, seeing the decorations all over the city, listening to the festive music and witnessing that serene first snow, I am looking forward to the magic of the holidays and the optimism that comes with a new year!
Whether I am in a good or a bad mood, black is always my go-to color and ultimately my favourite one! We hear a lot about how the LBD (little black dress) is a must and it’s something I’ve also written about in a past post. But what you need to know is that I have lots of wardrobe musts that I believe should also be black! In today’s look, I decided to where them all! First comes the turtleneck. It is a true classic. It is not a trend nor will it ever be! It is a necessity! It saved me so many times :) It works with everything and never fails to deliver a classy look! It is perfect to elongate the neck and highlight the face, a feature you should always be proud to emphasize :) Second is the black blazer! Again, it is an essential piece because you can create so many different looks with it. That day I was heading to a gallery for a night of artistic discoveries and I was feeling the simplicity of a monochromatic look. Decided to pair the blazer with these black tuxedo pants because I enjoy how comfortable they are as well as the contrast between the chic satin tuxedo style and the ease of the joggers. And last but not least: the bags and shoes! One of my recent buys is this gorgeous cross body bag from Mackage! I love how structured it looks, the mix of textures and the metallic details. It can definitely be considered a unisex bag, which is very suiting with this masculine vibe. But still kept the look feminine with the minimalistic refined high leather mules!
Why black? Because it is classy… edgy… conservative… seductive… traditional… modern… mysterious… or whatever you want it to be!
