Today’s look is a sneak peek into my kind of fashion on a typical day off. Why is it that it always ends up being more hectic than a regular workday? Technically, I should be resting and recharging for the week ahead! Well… That certainly isn’t happening anytime soon! I usually start my day off with some type of fitness exercises. I either attend an early Pilates class or I train at home doing a High Intensity Interval Training session. It allows me to feel energized and ready to take on my busier than busy day! This week, I went from Pilates to my car’s dealership garage to fix the third flat tire I have in two months (don’t get me started on this…), to a ritual brunch at Regine (one of the best brunch places in Montreal!) with my dear friend Isa, to shopping downtown for Christmas gifts (I ended up getting most of them! Yay!), to organizing my best friend’s baby shower, to surviving traffic, to grocery shopping, to preparing dinner and next workday's healthy lunch, to finally crashing on the couch around ten o'clock! Not to mention finding some time for a quick photo sesh ;) That my friends, is what I call a productive day :)
So what do you wear on a day like this, when you want to be comfortable but still look cute? A mish mash of eclectic pieces! Each item, from the graphic dress, to the oversized leather jacket, to the exotic shoes, to the loose beanie, brings a different feel. But somehow, I find it makes sense! I love the coziness of this black sweater dress and its private schoolgirl vibe when worn over a white shirt! What I like about this leather coat is how the cut is different from the classic biker jacket, the unfinished detailing and how adaptable it can be. With all that running around, I couldn’t afford to loose time, so the heels were replaced with flats and these animal print calf hair loafers from Tod’s are my new favourite ones! A timeless classic restyled with a sophisticated twist! Can you believe I found them at Winners while shopping for a gift! Tod’s at Winners! Who knew? So guess who ended up getting themself a gift? As soon as I saw them, I grabbed them and didn’t let go ;) To finalize the look, the beanie was necessary! Because every woman has a bad hair day and it was raining ;) It just happened to also bring an urban sense to the whole outfit!
How do you find this look and what do you wear on a day off?
