After a hectic day at the pharmacy, being stuck in traffic for over an hour, a training session at the gym, preparing and having dinner, I can finally sit down! Just made myself a hot jasmine green tea, put Adele’s newest record on (which I play non stop!) and I am now by the fireplace in my loosest pyjamas writing to you guys! Oh so glamorous! Right? Even though I love attending social events and going to different parties all over the city, there is nothing like nesting at home in the comfort of your living room on a cold day! I missed being home :) And you know what? This is actually my favourite setting when I want to share my thoughts and latest look with you! You are getting the real and true Natalie… With her visions, insecurities, ups and downs, baring it all…
Lately, even though I am living in the city I call home, I have been very homesick… My family is my heart… And it’s that home that I miss… That I miss so dearly… Smelling my mother’s gentle perfume when she kisses me… Laughing with my dad at his sweet way of teasing me… Confiding to my sisters and sharing my deepest thoughts, dreams and fears… Tasting and enjoying a new scotch with my brother-in-laws… Having pyjama parties with my nieces where we put makeup on and take pictures of our makeovers… Running around with my adorable nephews and making videos of our adventures… But… What I miss the most…. Is waking up on Christmas day with all of them, under the same roof… Even though I try to reason myself and stay strong, my heart is aching… I couldn’t hate distance more than I do now.
Simply writing about it makes me feel better and of course wiping many tears as I do too ;) Good old oversensitive me! Thank you blogosphere for listening to me :) Let’s discuss fashion now! One of my favourite therapies! In today’s post, it’s all about this virgin wool cocoon tunic! It is definitely the perfect piece for this time of the year. Not only is it soft, warm and comfortable, it is the creation of the amazing Montreal brand: ça va de soi! Their collections are known for their finest knitwear and simple sophistication! A must see and try! I decided to wear the tunic as a dress but with black opaque tights for a cozy feel. To stay in that same vibe, I opted for the basic black turtleneck, which also acts as a great background for the main piece. Because of its bubble effect, I think that by accentuating the waist with a large belt, the tunic is more flattering. It also made me look like Superwoman with her cape ;) I find that when wearing something simple like this knit, the accessories are responsible for creating the feel you want to emanate! I like how the beanie (which I stole from my brother! Shhh…) and wedge booties brought the modern aspect that I like. I chose to stay in the cold colors range for the same reasons but added a little pop of color with the thin yellow belt! Why go with one belt, when you can sport two! How would you wear this tunic?
Je pense à toi maman…
