Another week, another discovery! As promised, I will take you with me everywhere I go! Let’s explore this world together and along the way I’ll make sure to stop and take pictures ;)
This look was shot at the Coterie Tradeshow, one of two fashion exhibitions I visited this week, the second being Capsule. It’s at these fairs that brands showcase their newest collections, examine recent trends and sale opportunities. They are unfortunately not open to the public but mainly for buyers, stylists and fashion students :) Ye! It was a great occasion to discover new brands, discuss with the designers, talk with their PR agents as well as make new contacts. They usually all happen the same week and over the course of 3 days at different convention centers in the city. You will find numerous booths for women and men garments, jewelry, shoes, bags, makeup, accessories like hats, sunglasses and even socks. It can be quite overwhelming to be surrounded by so many products yet very stimulating! My favorite part was chatting with the designers about their inspirations, getting to see the trend forecasting for the next season and the free coffee! Wherever there is coffee, I’m happy!
I wanted to wear something relaxed yet chic! Does that make sense? I found the black jogger to be the perfect piece to create that feeling! The fact that it’s slouchy makes it very comfortable to wear but the satin fabric and tuxedo details contribute to the edginess. The sweater I paired it with was brushed for softness, which allowed the animal print to be subtler. It’s so fleecy, I love it! What made this outfit stand out? I believe it's definitely the boots! What do you think? The lace up style is fierce and elongates the legs by acting as the continuation of the pants. The peep toe and peekaboo purple tights are the little extra touch of color, like the lipstick :) And, to tie the look together, I chose a leather grey purse for its neutral tone. Do you like this combination?
This weekend, I’ll be visiting a museum. Either the Brooklyn Museum for the Killer Heels exhibit or the MET. I don’t know yet... What will you be doing? I hope you will have a wonderful one!
