Fashion is about following trends, knowing what the new “it” item to have is or what colors are in season. But, I believe that style is about being original and letting your personality shine, while using the trendy pieces we cherish! I like to try and mix different styles and not have one specific look. This is why I love fashion, because it allows me to be creative in my own way!
Even though I am high on heels, I sometimes need to bring it down, especially on the weekends. A woman has got to let her feet rest a bit, no? This brings me back to a winter look I was wearing in Montreal on a casual Sunday afternoon. I was meeting a friend for coffee and I chose to wear my blue ripped jeans with the fur and leather booties to create a sporty boyish look. The animal print of course is my way of showing my feminine side, as well as the darker lipstick ;)
I matched the jeans to a gold knit sweater and a white shirt not only for the casual look but also to stay warm, especially in Montreal. Speaking of staying warm… A wool coat is a must! And, I am in love with this cream coat from Zara! I love its minimalistic look and straight line, but also its angular cropped sleeves. It’s different from your regular puffy winter coat. Also, I felt its pure color and gold detailing fit very well with the knit, creating a single-shade ensemble. Simple is the way to go sometimes!
I actually ordered the coat online as well as the animal print booties, which is something I do way too often! I know some of you might not be fans of buying on the Internet, but it actually gives us access to collections we don’t have in Montreal or the United States :) In this situation, I felt the European collection had more to offer! So… I got a bit too excited and bought too many pieces, yet again!
Finally, I had to add a beanie to the kit (staying in the same creamy hues) simply because it’s a necessity this winter! Who doesn’t want to look like an elf, right? I have become hooked on these hats and can’t seem to leave the house without them! The beanie is one of the best accessories this season, especially on a bad hair day! I am sure every woman can relate!
I hope you liked seeing me in a new, more laid-back look :)
Stay warm and have a great weekend everyone!
