This weekend was pretty busy, just the way I like it! I attended the Mont-Royal Ball, a benefit I love to go to every year! It’s organized by the Young Leaders Circle to raise money for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation, which aims to improve the health outcomes of a growing number of children. It’s an event where more than 1500 young business professionals, artists and entertainment personalities gather to have a few drinks, sweet and salty hors d’oeuvres, to mingle and dance to the beats of the best DJs. This year the theme was Bloom-Party, inspired by lavish Japanese ceremonies to celebrate the spring bloom! It was a great way to start the benefits' season! I had a blast with two of my great friends!
The best part was the many interesting people we got to meet! I got to chat with some of my favorite Montreal fashion bloggers like the stylish Anik Lacasse from Montreal in style, the lively Fati Zed from The Montreal Fashion Blog, the über cool Lolitta Dandoy from Fashion is Everywhere and the sweetest Josiane and Miss Seven Teen from Ton Petit Look. They are all as nice in person as they seem on their blogs. It was a pure pleasure! I also had the chance to meet two unique stylists from Montreal; Audrey Simard from Les Relookeuses and Audrey Bellehumeur from Onceastyle. They were both refreshing to talk to and creative in their own way! And to top it all, I got to strike a pose with the wonderful designer Denis Gagnon, the always hilarious Goofy Welldone, the nicest actor and TV personality Angelo Cadet as well as the rock singer Eric Lapointe! The night couldn’t be complete without us getting our groove on to the best Hip Hop and R&B music, cheating on delicious Italian pizza and gelato, beer cupcakes, green tea donuts and candies as well as enjoying a drink or a few :) It was simply an amazing evening!
I find the Mont-Royal Ball to be the perfect setting to dress in a bolder outfit! This is why I chose to wear my Gracia flower skirt! I got it in New York City on my last day there! As soon as I tried it, I fell in love! The asymmetric length and the ball gown effect made me feel like a true princess! I couldn’t stop twirling in the store! I had to get it, even though that meant shoving it in a little ball in my over packed suitcase! When it came to choosing a top, I hesitated between a black crop top, which is sexier and a white adjusted shirt for a sophisticated look. I finally opted for the shirt because it felt more regal and more fitted for a Ball! It channeled Carolina Herrera, the epitome of elegance! Don’t you think? To create a cool color contrast, I went for emerald satin pumps instead of usual black ones. And, to modernize the look, I wore delicate jewelry and styled my hair in an edgier way, with slicked-back strands. What do you think of this outfit?
It’s always fun to be a princess for a night and dress like it! And most importantly ladies, remember to:
