It’s a beautiful, sunny and refreshing Saturday morning in Montreal! I just got back from a barre class and I am feeling so energized! Getting up and training might sometimes be the hardest part but once that session is done, whether it’s barre, HIIT, hot yoga or pilates, it’s the best feeling in the world! Ever since I’ve been back to Montreal, back to the pharmacy world, working on the blog and having a busy social life, which I can’t give up :), I have been finding it harder to have time to train. I didn’t stop, but had to cancel a few classes here and there because I didn’t have enough sleep or just too many things happening in one day and I simply couldn’t make it. Even though I don’t like missing training sessions, which are scheduled in my agenda as sacred appointments with myself, sometimes you just have to listen to your body and let it rest! We are not superwomen all the time after all!
I have also been splurging more on alcohol and sweets thanks to a lot of dining out, events and Easter chocolate! MiniEggs being my favorites ;) Don’t get me wrong! I love indulging in a good glass of wine, whisky or some yummy desert! But, I feel at my best mentally and physically when I train 5 to 6 times a week and eat healthy 80% percent of the time. If I spend more than two days without being active I feel sluggish and become lazier! So, I decided that this week, I was taking my clean eating and fitness regimen up a notch! Going back to my habits of one cheat meal a week and daily training! I will be sharing with you more of my healthy lifestyle on my social accounts and hope to inspire you to do the same :) Go! Go! Go! Summer and bikini season here we come!
The photos I am posting today were taken this week just before attending a few fashion events in Montreal. I was going to the 5@7 Spring-Summer 2015 Collection Launch at Lowell in the Mile-End. It’s a boutique where you can find beautiful quality crafted products such as accessories, apparel for men and women and even furniture. It showcases the Montreal designer Rachel F.’s vintage and well designed collection as well as different Canadian brands. If you are looking for carefully curated and unique pieces, it’s the store to shop at! Then I went to Auberge Saint-Gabriel in Old Port for the Launch Party for the Identity Edition of Flanelle Magazine. I fell in love with this Montreal-based artistic magazine! It is refreshing to see one, especially from my town, taking such a creative approach to fashion and editorials! The images are beyond stunning and the articles well written! Very inspiring and a must read! Then I was meeting my best friend for an overdue catch-up dinner (even though we talk several times a day)! Now you have a glimpse of how my week was and why the alcohol kept on coming ;)
I wanted to wear an ensemble that would be appropriate for all events. This is why I went for this new skirt I got from H&M in New York. Who said you had to pay a lot for a nice piece, right? I liked the flirty shape because it accentuates your curves :) I also am a big fan of the bandage fabric, which tucks you in at all the right places and keeps everything smooth, which is what every woman wants! I also favored the camel color, which is in tone with the 70’s trend! Since I was going to evening events, I wanted to keep the hues more sober and opted for black for the other garments. The turtleneck crop top is great to wear with a high waisted skirt, because it puts emphasis on the waist, your smallest area. The belt and its golden details was also the perfect accessory to highlight the waist! The faux-leather jacket was a must to keep warm. I felt the short style brought out the skirt even more and the fabric added more texture to the overall outfit. As you might have noticed by now, I always like to add a bit of edginess to my looks! This is why I wore the peep toe lace up suede and leather boots, for that extra modern kick! Because I was wearing a turtleneck, I went for delicate jewelry and a sleek ponytail. I find it kept the style clean and more polished! Do you agree? As for the purse, the straw fabric and wooden handle were the ideal spring choices and kept the look together.
Now I need to choose my outfit for a night out in town :)
