Crazy week at work! Just got back from a double 9h00 to 21h00 shift at the pharmacy. Which means I had breakfast, lunch and dinner there! Three out of the five days I am working this week are double shifts! Good job Nat for overbooking yourself! Once again! I have a tendency to think that I only need 4 hours of sleep a night to be functional! Because of course, I don’t just work! I still want to train, cook, work on the blog, spend quality time with my friends, try new activities and restaurants in Montreal and stop along the way to take pictures :) Welcome to Natalie’s world, where there aren’t enough hours in a day to enjoy life to the fullest! Even though I might be working insane hours, I still want to take time to write on the blog and share my thoughts with you! It is my favorite part of the day and I wouldn’t give it up even if it means sleeping less :)
As you might already know, I am a lover of all things related to Art & Culture! That’s my geeky side! I take great pleasure going to museums and last week I discovered the Marvels and Mirages of Orientalism exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. It was sublime! Jean-Joseph Benjamin-Constant’s flamboyant paintings were simply mesmerizing! The drama, the fine details, the complexity of his technic and his use of color to create lighting effects were riveting! It’s one of my favorite shows so far! I highly recommend my fellow art lovers to go see it before May 31st. I even bought the 10 pounds coffee table book about the artist and his fascinating work! Definitely a must-see!
I had the always-enjoyable Montreal Sunday brunch with a friend prior to the museum and was looking to wear something casual and chic. I found the Karen Millen safari dress to be the best choice. It is girly, super easy to wear and very versatile. For brunch I wore the dress with black pumps for a classier look then changed for plimsolls to be more comfortable to walk around in the museum. What I enjoy the most about Karen Millen’s dresses is the way they fit your body and flatter all women, whatever their shape. Her style is effortless and always feminine! As you can see, I sported my black leather jacket once again. I consider it to be a must in my spring wardrobe and enjoy wearing it with various pieces and creating multiple styles. In this case, I felt it brought an edge to the attire by contrasting with the softness of the pink shade dress. The handbag was also black leather to stay in harmony with the jacket and the platform shoes but denoted classiness with the Chanel inspired chain strap. How do you find this look?
This friday, I will be attending the neoclassical ballet Anna Karenina from Les Grands Ballets and will tell you all about it next week! Really looking forward to this show! What will you be doing this weekend?
