It’s a rainy and windy day in Montreal. The kind of weather where you just want to stay in, snuggle and watch a movie. And this is exactly what I’ll be doing tonight, after a long and busy weekend at work! Since pharmacy hours require that you work in the evenings and on weekends, my schedule is very different from most people. I can have off on a Monday like today for example. For some people it might be annoying to have a variable schedule, but for me it’s perfect! It allows me to have free time in the middle of the week, run errands when the stores are empty, to have brunch (my favorite meal of the day!) with friends and family and appreciate some alone time when no one is around. As much as I love to go out, socialize and feed off other people’s energy, I can be a loner... Surprising? Maybe! I actually need and enjoy some quality time with myself. It allows me to recharge, get into my thoughts and reassess on a regular basis where I am heading in this crazy world. And I always need some music in the background! I don’t know about you but music is vital in my life! It puts me in the zone when I am writing, pumps me up before going out, relaxes me after a hectic day and has saved my life during rough times… From pop, house and R&B to acoustic, classical and baroque music, I listen to all genres. Each style has a different effect on my mood!
Even though it’s a grey day, I still appreciate spring and the weather changes it brings. It’s a perfect timing to start wearing brighter colors. Last week I went for a walk in the park with a friend where the naked trees were the perfect setting for a small photo shoot. I had just come from visiting another friend and had a dinner later in the day. I needed to wear something that could go from day to night. I felt like wearing light shades to embrace the season and I find they boost my mood too :) I opted for a mint sleeveless top and a white jacket. I like the high low cut and the flowing fabric of the blouse, which add movement to the outfit. The blazer is more adjusted, which is a great way to define the waist and create a nice hourglass shape. To balance with the longer shirt, I chose jeggings as pants because of the tight fit. I also find the beige color to be one of the best neutrals to compliment light hues. To highlight them more, I decided on chocolate brown accessories. I especially like the mix of suede and raw leather of the boots and bag, for the texture they bring to the attire. And let’s not mention my obsession for fringes, which you will see very often!
Have a great week everyone and make sure to enjoy some quality time with yourself :)
