In my last post I was writing about new collaborations. Today, I am going to show you the results of a great one! I met Maria through a mutual friend last year but we only saw each other again at the surprise red carpet event my friends threw me a week ago. As a new photographer, she is building her portfolio and wanted me to be part of it! Isn’t that the nicest compliment? So we teamed up and decided to work together for some modern and cool photo shoots! Be ready to see edgier looks and more urban pictures! I am excited, because it’s different from what you have seen up to now! Pushing some boundaries with the setting alone! I just got back from a shoot we did in Griffintown, that I will post very soon :) Super neat!
As you might already know, I love playing with clothes and different styles! Mixing sophisticated pieces with street wear is one of my favourite approaches to styling. People often ask me how I come up with my outfits. To be honest, I don’t really overthink it! I usually start with one piece that I feel like wearing that day and go from there! For the ensemble worn in this post I simply started with casual boyfriend jeans and a grey t-shirt. Whenever I have a day off, I go for the comfort of a good old pair of denims because I don’t get to wear them to work. Then, to vamp up the attire, I added the black blazer! I like how the shoulders are more structured and defined, making it more edgy. The tuxedo-like cut gives it a masculine vibe yet the silky fabric keeps it contemporary. Since I was in neutral tones, I chose a bold yellow bag to brighten the outfit! The metallic detailing gives off a bit of a rocker effect too. Let’s talk shoes now! I find that with boyfriend jeans you can go two ways. When I am looking for a relaxed look, I omit the jacket, opt for cute flats and hop I go! But if I want a sleek style, I believe pointed pumps are the best types of heels to choose! They create a va-va-voom figure in a second as well as elongate the legs! And, even more when you roll the cuffs of the pants :) Do you agree?
Let me know what you think of these photos. Do you enjoy the more serious and edgy approach?
Have a great Easter weekend!
