I can’t believe how time flies! We just celebrated Easter and it feels like it was Christmas yesterday! Every holiday for the past few years has been bittersweet for me… As much as I enjoy decorating, celebrating and receiving friends over on these special events, I always find it hard to be away from my family, a huge chunk of my heart! I am blessed with two wonderful parents that I owe everything to and three siblings that are more precious to me than any diamond could ever be! Unfortunately, my parents as well as my two sisters and my nephews and nieces live thousands of miles away. I get to see them only once a year, when it is possible :(
I am extremely attached to my tight-knit family! We talk and text on a regular basis and I feel like I am part of their daily life, even though I am far. But, sometimes I am so busy running everywhere that I find it hard to get in touch. And on holidays like this Easter, I recognize how priceless time is and how it is important to value every second you share with your loved ones! I am excessively sensitive on these days and fight my tears when I talk to them… I realize how much I cherish and miss them! Especially my little munchkins…
My mom is my number one fan and I know she is going to love the look I am posting today! She is the one who showed me how to experiment and have fun with fashion and express a fierce personality with my clothes! One thing that I love to do when it comes to styling my outfits is mixing textures and different types of fabric! I find it brings richness to the attire. I’ve had this 70's inspired suede jacket forever but always hesitate to wear it because of its colour. Yellow is making a comeback this spring and I decided to embrace it! Mustard yellow is not an easy hue to pull off though. This is why I coordinated it with black and white, so the outfit doesn’t become overpowering yet highlights the bright color. I opted for a black faux-leather pencil skirt with a high slit simply because I like the flattering shape it gives to a woman’s body. It’s sophisticated and alluring at the same time :) The suede shoes are also quite seductive, with the lacing going up the foot. I believe that whatever you pair them with, whether it’s jeans, shorts or a skirt, they instantly turn the look into a sexier version! And what woman doesn’t want to feel sexy from times to times? Right ;) I found that the “Bored of You” crop top and black beanie were a fun way to mix street fashion and keep the style urban. Do you agree? Then, to give the look an extra flair, I incorporated touches of bold colors like red and blue with the accessories and lipstick!
Don’t be afraid to try new styles! As long as you are having fun, you are doing the right thing :) Right mom?
