For the next few weeks, I will be sharing my condo with two of my best roommates; my mom and dad! I haven’t seen my parents since August of 2014, so you can imagine how excited and happy I am to have them all to myself for the next month :) My family is actually dispersed in three different countries. My parents live in Lebanon now as well as one of my older sisters K, her husband and their two adorable boys. My oldest sister T lives in Qatar with her husband and two princesses, while my younger brother A lives with me in Montreal. Even though we live miles apart, it never broke the powerful and loving bond we have between us! Thanks to Internet and phones, we stay in touch on a regular basis, which allows us to feel like we are part of each other’s daily life and that we are not missing out on any important moments! But having them close to you, waking up and having them in the house, smelling my mom's turkish coffee, discussing daily matters face to face, being able to hold them in your arms, smelling their perfume and giving them kisses is priceless! I had missed my parents dearly and my heart was so big this Monday when I picked them up at the airport! They are visiting my brother and I and will be enjoying their hometown of 25 years; our beautiful Montreal! My parents have always been my biggest fans in everything I have done, every project or crazy idea I tackled! They always believed in me and in my potential to be a successful woman. They taught me that I needed to work hard to reach my goals! They taught me how important it is to be an educated and independent strong professional simply by being great examples of that :)
When it comes to finding an appropriate outfit for a professional setting, it can be quite challenging, especially if you want it to be fashionable :) I believe that young career oriented women should exude strength, ambition, personal style and femininity in the attire they chose to wear! Image might not be the most important factor when it comes to showcasing your professional attributes, but it sure is a glimpse into your personality, which plays an important role in the relationships you build. A cotton dress might seem simple to wear but when you match it with a blazer and the right accessories it becomes perfect for a day at the office! This dress is easy and comfortable to wear thus making it a great choice for work. The taupe color and mid-thigh length are both appropriate for that setting too. I find a white blazer to be an important piece to have in my wardrobe. I wear it with jeans for a date, with shorts and heels for a night out or over a casual dress like this one to vamp up the look. I particularly like the lack of structure in this jacket, that I find differentiates it from your typical suit jacket while adding a contemporary feel to the ensemble. Also, I think that in a work environment it is preferable to go with more subtle accessories. They should compliment the outfit but not take the attention away from you, the main focus! This is why I opted for silver and clear crystal jewellery and nude shoes, which also make your legs look longer! And who doesn’t like that :) Then to include a bit more of my personality into the outfit, I went for a colourful bag. The pastel colours and flower designs being also very trendy this spring season!
Thank you Tres Chic Styling for letting me choose this beautiful outfit!
