For the past ten days, I’ve been spending good and quality time with my parents! And, what I have come to realize is how our relationship has evolved in the last few years and how I see them and approach them in a totally different way now! We have such a loving, mature and amazing connection! I have always been close to my parents and never had any problems with them while growing up! No teenage rebellion or identity crisis as I was brought up in a home full of respect, warmth, and love! But, when you grow up in a Lebanese household, you perceive your mom and your dad as authority figures and role models. They are the decision makers because they know and are right about everything! You want their approval and are always afraid of deceiving them! Why? Because you want them to be proud of you! But as I became an adult, gained maturity and independence, my relationship with them changed and couldn’t be more beautiful! I realized how much I am like them, even though I sometimes fought it as a kid ;) I get to know them as adults, with their qualities and their weaknesses! Just like me, they are not perfect! And, now I know that whatever I do, they are always proud of me. They give me their opinion with the liberty to use it as I please, trusting every decision that I make! And they ask for mine and take it into consideration when it comes to making important decisions in their lives. We open up to each other in ways we never did before… We feel comfortable discussing very personal, intimate and deep issues. No judgment, no social pressure, only friendship and love! After all, like my mother said: “All we want is for you to be happy!” And she meant it in the simplest and purest way! They have become my friends :) True and meaningful friends! And, I will take advantage of every second I have with them because in a blink of an eye they will unfortunately be thousands of miles away…
One thing I take from my parents, especially my mom, is the importance of having and enjoying an active social life! Which is why I am always ready for an evening out on the town with friends :) And you must know by now, how much I like to dress up for that! Well, for pretty much anything :) When I went to Tres Chic Styling to find an outfit suitable for a dinner with my girls, this cobalt and black two-piece immediately caught my eye! I loved the contemporary femininity of the crop-top and high-waisted skirt. The bold color and unique juxtaposition of patterns are a great mixture of originality and sophistication, which are a must when you are getting ready for a fun night out! Not constricting, thanks to the cut and fabric, and mixed with the playful print, this ensemble is perfect if you end up at a bar dancing the night away! Being a statement by itself, this outfit doesn’t require to be overly styled! Simple makeup and simple jewelry! Then paired it with strappy black sandals for a hint of edginess and the zigzag clutch for my love of mixed prints. Voila!
Are you ready for a night out? I am!
