Oufff! What a hectic week! Very busy workdays, different appointments almost every day and getting organized and ready for the “Dîner en Blanc”! It was my first time attending this all white chic picnic! It’s an event organized worldwide where thousands of people meet in a public location that is kept secret until an hour before the event! It recalls the elegance and glamour of court society! I had to show up to a specific meeting point with a date, a table, a white cover, two white chairs, two sets of silverware and glasses (no plastic allowed), a centerpiece, food, wine or champagne, and dressed in an elegant ALL WHITE outfit! There were no limits to the accessories. From hats, gloves to fancy jewellery! The sky was the limit, as long as they were white :) Renting all the equipment and having it be transportation-friendly was quite a challenge since we could only make it to the site by organized public transit or chartered bus! Once we discovered and reached the location, we had to set-up our table and get ready for dinner. Then everyone was seated and at a specific hour, we all lifted our white cloth napkins to indicate the beginning of the dinner. And so the night began! Nothing less than gourmet food, delicacies and bubbles! Then, it was time for the lighting of the sparklers by all six thousand guests at the same time! An amazingly magical moment! Pure enchantment! This also indicated the opening of the dance floor! The DJ set the dance floor on fire, Brazilian dancers had us shake our hips and the crowd was more than ready to party! Even though it required a lot of organisation and some struggling to reach the Montreal Old Port, which was this year’s beautiful background, it was an exquisite evening! A night where beauty, glamour, refinement and joy of life met! You can find my all white Grace Kelly inspired outfit of the night on my Facebook and Instagram accounts :) Let me know what you think of it!
Getting back to reality and work can seem hard but doing it with style can only make it easier :) Today I am sharing a look that you can take from a busy workday to an evening out, with only a few changes. The simpler it is, the better! I am sure any vibrant active woman can relate! I think this beige dress is the ideal piece. You just put it on, zip it and go! The structured adjusted cut is flattering yet appropriate. The color is clean, versatile and suitable for work. As a young urban professional, I still want a modern touch to my work attire! I believe the laser cut neckline of this sheath dress combined with the twisted belt were a great way to achieve that. What do you think? At work, I would wear this dress with nude pumps or leather loafers. Then come nighttime, I would switch for the taupe multi suede sandals as pictured to upgrade the look. I found the mix of shiny leather and suede added dimension to the dress, while the stiletto heals complimented my bare legs. Which is a plus when “apéro” time is awaiting ;) Going to the office or to the pharmacy in my case, I would choose a black or beige tote bag! It needs to be big enough to carry my daily survival kit and my white lab coat. The beige clutch is an easy switch from the tote! Since I opted to stay in a neutral color theme, the studs were perfect for that extra touch of shine! Because I find it essential to
