Last week was the FMD - Fashion and Design Festival in Montreal! Once a year, designers, creators, fashion icons and influencers as well as retailers take the city by storm with their creative visions. Many activities were offered to the public such as fashion shows, conferences, exhibits, artistic sessions, musical performances and many more original experiences! The whole city was breathing fashion, from museums, restaurants and even bars! Even though I wish I could have attended all the events, I still managed to be part of the frenzy :) One of my favourite moments was the conference with Adam Katz Sinding, the young fashion photo-journalist behind the striking pictures published on le21eme.com. His story is inspiring and his passion and eye for fashion photography truly unique! It was enriching to see how down-to-earth and humble le 21eme was, even after all his success! From his amusing anecdotes to the stories behind his mesmerizing fashion weeks’ shots (some were taken on the streets of Montreal!), Adam was a breath of fresh air during this heat wave!
On that day, I sported a look that I find perfect as a transition outfit from summer to fall! I really enjoyed wearing the beige trench, which I believe to be a must this season! The drapes give the coat a certain structure but its sheerness makes it summer-friendly! Which is exactly what you need on a breezy summer night or to survive the dreadful AC. The neutral color is best at this time of the year. It’s not too bright nor too dark or gloomy. This long vest can also be worn in various ways; with shorts and boots or tied in the front with a pencil skirt. The options are endless! I decided to match it with blue ripped jeans and a simple black cami for a laid-back feel. But, the accessories I chose were far from plain and made the ensemble FMD ready! The brown suede hat conveyed a boho-style as much as the necklace did with its fun fringes! I thought the wooden handle purse was a nice compliment to the beige top because of its colours but also because of the interesting mix of fabric and raw textures. As for the shoes, nothing beats a strappy sandal! By creating continuity to the jeans, it lengthens the legs. And, who doesn’t want to have legs for days? At the same time, the bold straps enhance the look with just enough edge! What do you think?
Until next year FMD Montreal :)
