It’s been a long time since I’ve had a full weekend off! My schedule is far from your typical 9 to 5. I usually work one or both weekend days, a lot of evenings and have off on random days like Tuesdays. I actually enjoy being able to do my grocery shopping when the store is empty on a Wednesday or go for a hike on a Monday morning. I am more of a night owl so having some mornings off allows me to sleep in a bit more. And one thing you should know about me is that I cannot stand having a routine! Well… up to now at least! The more hectic the schedule, the better! Sometimes, I feel like I have a duty to fill every second of my agenda! Why? Because there aren’t enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do! And, if I have a gap of some sort, it ends up being filled with a meeting, an extra shift of work or a brunch with a friend! I live on adrenaline because it is amazingly invigorating! But it’s on days like these, where I didn’t plan every second, that I realize I need to slow down! I realize how much sleep and rest are important to my body and my mind… Not having to snooze any alarms is priceless! I took time in the morning to have a real sit-down breakfast! I actually went through my September issue of Vogue (I am so late, I know…) and read my latest Shape magazine, while sipping on an almond milk coffee. What can I say… I like to mix my fashion and fitness addictions :) Talking about addictions, I still managed to do a heart pumping HIIT training session this morning. Why? Because there is a limit to my rationality ;) Letting go a 100% is tough! I am a work in progress… So instead of having an overcharged schedule this weekend, I had a normal human being one! And I actually loved it :)
Although we are at the end of September, the weather in Montreal has been awesome! And I am taking advantage of this warm temperature to wear my last favourite summer pieces. On hot days, all you need is a light fabric tunic! It’s easy to wear, weightless, breezy and relaxed all at once! I enjoy wearing it on days when I am on the go, running errands and need to be ultra comfortable. You can sport it with high wedges if you want a sexier feel or with flats for a sporty flare. This time, I chose my new Keds because of the pretty Confetti design :) Aren’t they the cutest! Felt like a schoolgirl as soon as I put them on! I guess this is the reason why I opted for a backpack as my bag of the day :) Actually, I have been wearing this bag everywhere. Love the backpack look! Love the fringes! And, love the perfect “hectic day survival kit” size! Even though my studies have been long done by now, reliving just for a second the “back to school” moments is always fun! Cheers to the little kid in all of us :)
Hope you all had a relaxing weekend too! I am so ready for the new week!
Enjoy watching the rare supermoon lunar eclipse tonight and why not wish on something dear to you heart :)
