Just got back from a late shopping spree at the Fashion Fest – The September Issue, an event where Montreal-based retailers such as the hip Shop the 26th Look and edgy jewelry designer Jane&Rye where displaying and selling their newest collection, while we were sipping on Cointreau cocktails and grooving to cool music! You could also find some Montreal bloggers’ favorite outfits for sale! As you might have guessed, I splurged on a few fun items such as a peekaboo black top, a fringe necklace and yet another pair of sunglasses! As if I didn’t have too many already ;) You will of course see me sporting these favorite new pieces on the blog very soon! Because, like a kid on Christmas day, I can’t wait to play with my new toys :)
In today’s post, I am showing you another dress option for those last summer events. This one is more casual and fit for drinks with friends or a dinner date :) I find that the asymmetric stripes totally make the dress! The different angles they create are very flattering. They accentuate every body part just the right way! They cinch the waist giving the illusion of a belt, which is great to bring the focus on the smallest part of your body. The vertical lines from the neckline to the above-the-knee length skirt elongate the body and give the impression of a leaner shape! What I like about this dress aside from the fact that it makes me look more slender is the V-shape opening, that I find just sexy enough and the faux cross-front that I believe to be a modern way to highlight the legs! So... Pretty simple! One piece, a few lines and voilà! Love it! I was in the same minimalistic mood when it came to accessories! The baby blue wallet and the plain black leather platform pumps were subtle and discreet. Simplicity is more often the best option! Don't you think?
The only pop was my red kiss ;) xx
