Griffé Natalie is ONE year old! I cannot believe how time flies! Same time last year I was in my NYC apartment, on my bed with music in the background, writing my first blog. Can you believe this is my 90th!?! I don’t! I didn’t know where this adventure was going to take me… How it was going to evolve… And how it was going to change me! I have had my ups and downs through the year. Some days I would feel super inspired and excited about upcoming projects and collaborations and other days I would question myself about the reasons behind this journey… Now I know that going through the lows made me that much stronger to reach and enjoy the highs! As I was choosing the pictures for this article, I realized how much I had accomplished in a year! Honestly, I didn’t realize it until now! I went back to my stay in New York, where it all started. How amazing and fulfilling this experience was! I am so glad I chose to go and discover this whole new world! The amazing people I met, that thought me so much about the fashion industry… The friends I met and hold so dear now… The places I discovered, that inspired me… I relived the same wonderful emotions and feelings that inhabited me while I was living this experience! And this only is enough to push me to continue sharing my passion! Sometimes I forgot why I was doing this… I would find it hard to juggle work, daily house work, the blog, my friendships, my training and my social life! I felt I didn’t have enough hours in the day to do it all and I didn’t want to give up anything! I would prefer to sleep four hours than having to choose. Finding a healthy balance has been by far the biggest challenge! I also came to realize how much I enjoyed being a pharmacist and how my project of owning my own pharmacy was still very present! I am driven by entrepreneurship and want it more than ever! So how do I do this now? Well, I truly believe that I don’t have to choose and can accept this duality in my life: Young professional with an addiction to everything fashion ;) And this blog will be my way to express that contrast!
After coming back to Montreal, I was on an adrenaline high! I was ready to take on the Montreal fashion world! Then I realized how different it was from what I had experienced in NYC. Even though the fashion blogosphere and its impact are more and more present in Montreal, I sense that a lot of people are still hesitant and cautious when it comes to fashion, finding it unattainable... And this is why I want to approach my blog differently this year :) I want to bring an international flare! I am the a citizen of the world after all, with my Lebanese/Canadian background. I want to share my personal fashion inspirations with you, whether they are from Dubai, Milan or Japan. I want to show you more of that unreachable crazy haute couture world, where my passion for fashion originated! I want us to explore together a fashion world where there are no limitations… No rights or wrongs… Where you can wear a big fluffy skirt to go to dinner simply because you want to! Where it's not about the trend of the month that everybody is wearing but about what's to come, so you're one step ahead... What instigates a spark in you... What relates to your personality! Because after all that’s what style is: a reflection of who we are! Through this first year, I had the chance to meet a lot of inspiring people: stylists, designers, journalists, photographers, bloggers, entertainers, public relations agents and entrepreneurs. I would love to be able to introduce some of them to you and share with you how they make this world so much more stimulating and how they have personally influenced me :) I have many ideas and collaborations I am working on for this second year and I hope you will share this journey with me and appreciate the changes! Your support and comments mean the world to me and are the reasons why I am looking forward to year 2 with a big smile!
Here are some of my favourite looks of the past year! I had so much trouble choosing! Let me know which one is your favourite:)
