I have been a bit absent for the last couple of weeks and missed you, my blogosphere friends! I don’t know where to start to let you know what has been happening in my life. First, I have been overbooked with work and different projects and events. My pharmacy schedule (yes… my day job!) has been crazy lately, with long hours and only a few days off. I have also been working on organizing our 10th year university graduation reunion. Already ten years! Great way to remind me of how old I am ;) Making sure it will be a fabulous and amazing evening takes a lot of work! There are so many fashion events going on in the city and I love attending as many as I can to meet and mingle with artists in the industry. I am also working on several projects with the Néz pour Vivre foundation, against cancer in young adults, which is more precious to me now then it ever did before... But mostly I’ve had to deal with a roller-coaster of emotions and I had to take time to deal with it all… I was ecstatic to have finally signed for my new apartment in Griffintown, that I will move into this next July! I was frustrated because I had an accident with my brand new car. I was a little shaken up and had to take care of the damages and reparations. The hardest part was dealing with the loss of a dear friend of mine after a long and awful battle against cancer... My heart is heartbroken and to this day it still feels unreal. Just the thought of it brings tears to my eyes... He was way too young to go and leave behind his wife, an amazing woman I am lucky to call my close friend, and their three beautiful children. Oufff… The pill is still hard to swallow… But this weekend my heart was filled with joy as we celebrated my girl friend’s wedding! Roller-coaster I tell you! But the summer has just started and so many positive and great things are coming up! Will keep you posted on all my different projects and my fashion journey through them all :)
You will find in this article the outfit I wore to the In Style with Holt event at Holt Renfrew, as a collaboration with the Let’s Bond foundation. I opted for an all black look, another proof of my addiction to this elegant and edgy colour! The main piece of this outfit is the midi leather skirt. Sitting high, it emphasizes the waist, which is very flattering. I also enjoyed how the wrap-over forms a high slit and exposes the leg when I walk, adding a sexy touch. Because leather is a heavy fabric, I chose to wear the skirt with a slinky bodysuit. I found it to be the ideal top because of the stretchy finish and strappy backless, that also brought a current feel to it. I am really enjoying bodysuits this season, because they are so form-flattering and fit well with pretty much everything. I added a statement crystal necklace I got online to amp the look. And, I went for simple black pumps as shoes because they elongate the legs, which is even more important when wearing a chic midi skirt that doesn’t show a lot of skin.
How do you find this look? Are you addicted to black too?
