Why is it that we wait for the beginning of the year to make resolutions? I am the first one to be guilty of that! I feel it's the beginning of a fresh new chapter and that I have to state my objectives and goals so that my chances of accomplishing them are higher. The same way they say that if you share it with the world, it will find its way to you. Which is why my resolutions are plastered on a mood board in my apartment as a daily reminder :) What about you? I am not going to state that 2016 was a bad year for me. I am thankful to have my health, a roof over my head, precious family and friends that love and support me, as well as the amazing chance to be working on several professional endeavours. On an emotional level, it wasn't my best... Life has its way of subjecting you to difficult experiences such as the loss of a friend or a medical scare or putting people on your path that hurt you, whether it's intentional or not. Why? To simply challenge you. This is what life is all about. No escape clauses. Life Gives. Life Takes. You learn... You feel... You grow!
Today's post features a look I got a lot of questions about. Animal prints are back baby! And I couldn't be happier :) I love how they exude an exotic vibe but also a certain confidence. They are not easy to sport but there are various ways to style them so they fit your personality. You can start with a small accessory such as a scarf, bag or loafers. Or you can go all out with an oversized faux-fur coat or a dress. Don't hesitate to dare and be confident about being unique! I found this dress at Top Shop while shopping for Christmas gifts. A girl has got to buy herself a treat while gift shopping! Isn't that a rule? ;) Because the print is very bold, I appreciated the simplicity of the shape and the gentleness of the ruffles. About the boots! They were a must for me this season. I have always loved high boots because of their femininity and the way they elongate the legs. But thigh high boots are just on another level! Audacious, sexy and hip all in one! I wear them with shorts, skinny jeans, maxi skirts, dresses... Pretty much anything! I understand that they are not everybody's cup of tea and because of fashion history, they can be perceived as too sexy or lacking elegance. But I believe that if you style them wisely, they can be überchic! Do you agree?
As 2017 begins, I am welcoming it with a smile and an open heart! And all I wish for is that it brings us all a touch of magic!
